Windows – I can`t connect to my Wireless Network

Issue

I can see my wireless network but when i try to connect it says that it maybe out of range and that it cannot connect.
But I can connect using a 3rd Party program such as Netgear Smart Wizard etc ?? Whats going on ??

Solution

Check to see if you have set up this network as WPA2, and confirm what service pack you are running (Right click on My Computer and select properties). Only XP Service Pack 3 supports WPA2 which is why you may not be able to connect via “Windows Wireless Networking” but can via the 3rd Party software.

To resolve the issue install Service Pack 3.
