Below shows the basic steps for upgrading a Brocade ADX.
Copy Image
First of all the image is copied from a TFTP server.
Note : The option ‘secondary’ is used to ensure that the primary image is not overwritten.
adx# copy tftp flash [tftp server ip] ASR12301c.bin secondary
Check Flash
Next, check the image has been uploaded correctly by checking the flash.
[email protected]#sh flash

Set Boot
Next the configuration is set to boot from the secondary image.
Note : You MUST perform this within the configuration mode. Otherwise the ADX will reboot immediately from the secondary image.
adx(config)#boot system flash secondary
adx# wr mem
Reboot
Next reboot the system.
adx# reload
Verify
Once the device has reloaded run the version command to confirm that the device is running the new version of code.
adx# sh version | i System Version
